Ending 2017 feeling like shit is a first. I know ’clean slate’ during New Years is just a concept for some but that belief helps me to be hopeful. Sometimes, hope is all you need to carry on.

2017 was a whirlwind of emotions. Even though I lost stability, security, and a sense of direction, this year also taught me to be brave. Be brave to let go of a toxic environment even though it means leaving your comfort zone too. Be brave to explore, travel, and go places. Be brave to take a risk, to try, to take a leap of faith. It paid off.
I’m hoping that at the end of it all, love will win.

I promised that I will choose to be happy. I did, no matter what cost. I took the bad with the good. This year, I promise to love myself more and accept the love I deserve.

With a bang if I may add. Sobrang kupal ng taon na ‘to na hanggang sa huling sandali madami siyang paandar. Pwedeng awat na, mumsh?
BUT! In fairness naman and to 2016’s defense, on a micro-level (naks micro???) it isn’t as bad as it looks. In one of my conversations with Sosep, we agreed that this year for us is pretty okay naman all things considering. It doesn’t hurt to be grateful and celebrate the good things that happened this que horror year.
So that’s what I’m going to do! Presenting my 2016’s bes(t):
I’ve always wanted to fly to NYC and it felt like after THREE FAILED ATTEMPTS and countless hours of waiting at the airport, when the boarding pass was handed to me to FINALLY fly to JFK parang maiiyak yata ako bezzy kasi pakshet +19 hours ‘to of panis laway. Char.

I also got to spend time with my aunts and cousins which is pretty friggin awesome!
It’s weird that I only got to spend three days with NYC but there is still so much to see and experience! I miss it… wow clingy????? Sana makabalik ako next year! Sana marami rin akong anda!

My resolution for 2016 is to go out more. And go out, I did. Ika nga ng nanay ko, “SAAN NA NAMAN ANG LAMYERDA MO??”
Best pa rin ‘yung eLBindiefest kasi hindi ko kinailangang lumuwas! PLUS, my favorites/friends got to experience the LB crowd for the first time!
Going out more comes with meeting new people and spending more time with the old!

Kumusta? How are you spending your holidays? Ako, eto nagre-regenerate ng isip, puso, at diwa for 2016. Noong pumatak ang December 1, it felt like I’m so over everything. I was so spent! In tagalog, lamog. Joke that’s not the direct translation but you get what I mean.
Sobrang napaghahalataan na ang dami kong arte sa buhay.
On a happier sidenote: I like December 31s. Everyone is so positive! Parang ‘yung mga tao lumaklak ng sunshine at pag-asa. December 31 is the happiest ending we experience AND we do it annually. WHOA.

A few days ago, Sosep and I were talking about our failed, almost-love lives (haha, so kailan kaya tayo magiging successful) when he asked me how my 2015 was and how would I describe it.
It could’ve been better. And I only have myself to blame. Looking back, I took each day as it passed – some days were outstanding, most would just suck the outstanding out of me. In short, the bad outweighed the good, making me unleash my inner Kylo Ren all year. In my head, 2015 sucked ass. It’s not only until I decided to pick out my 2015 best nine for Instagram when I realized that, “P*nyeta. Tu-meen angst ako for nothing!” Sabi ng teen angst ko: Better late than never!
Siguro ganito feeling ni Darth Vader noong nagbalik loob na sya sa light side of the Force.

I’ve been a BSB fan for 18 years and their music is still a fixture in my everyday life. Hindi ako OA because nasa playlist ko forever ang BSB songs. If you see me *dancing* in my seat at work it’s probably cos I’m listening to Everybody or Larger than Life. Kung nageemote ako, it’s probably cos I’m listening to Shape of My Heart or Drowning.
Do you guys prepare before a concert? As in you listen to the artists’ playlist para you can sing along during the concert? I didn’t do that. I don’t have to. I’ve been ready for more than a decade.
In one of our team’s year-end activity sessions in Batangas, we were tasked to mold something out of clay that was a symbol of us. All I could think of were quotation marks because if ever I’ll get a tattoo (okay binigyan ko ng idea nanay ko hehe hi mother in case you’re reading maliit lang naman yon eh!), that’s what I would get. Just, “ and ”. I also love to read and having conversations. Sabi nga sa The Interview, “You know what’s more destructive than a nuclear bomb? Words.” PREACH!
I guess, in a way, that symbol shows my insecurities too. There are way too many times that I feel incompetent because of my lack of writing skill (harhar). It was a few days after that I realized I should’ve done another symbol. I can’t believe I didn’t think of it.
I’ve always loved taking photos. This is not since I was a little girl kind of thing because God knows I loved playing with Barbie dolls and Polly Pockets. I wasn’t artistic. More like dramatic. Haha! I think it really started in college because UPLB is just too damn beautiful. I remember this one time, I was kind of sad and heartbroken that I decided to walk around campus. It was my first photowalk. I was very tourist-y and I didn’t care. I had this one photo of the Carillion tower which was a beauty. Then I started taking photos of people, just random stuff as my attempt to document my college life.
I received a new phone with a kickass camera for Christmas last year. Why not use its features extensively? HAHA. Arte ng extensively. Also, I have never completed ANY 365-day project in my life. Kahit yung mga 100 days ekek tinatamad na ako agad! So to have completed this feels soooo good. ❤
